Description Bill 2022-12-13 13:33:16 UTC
Description:
Using Windows 11 on new laptop. Don't use One Drive as I dislike cloud storage. Files open very slowly after initially showing "not responding" but the slowness disappears when opening another file.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open Libre Office
2. Open previously opened file during new session.

Actual Results:
File doesn't open and shows "not responding" then opens after a noticeable delay.

Expected Results:
File opens immediately as previously on Windows 10

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
No customizations so didn't reset user file

Please test with a clean profile, Menu/Help/Restart in Safe Mode

I am now on version 7.4.7.2

Calc and Writer files take in excess of 30 seconds to open unless previously opened in the same session. If the cursor is placed on the list of icons, the icons "gray out" until the file loads. The same thing happens whether the file is loaded from "recent documents" or "open."

I couldn't reproduce extended load time on same or new sessions with 7s 319ms being the slowest time and safe mode being almost instant.

Thanks for the report Bill.
LibreOffice 7.4 won't see further updates. Can you please:
- check that your Windows installation is up to date
- install the latest 7.5 version and test again: https://www.libreoffice.org/download/download-libreoffice/
- Also, please reply to Comment 1 (testing in safe mode to see if it makes a difference).
Thank you!
