Description: After the new application icons have been added to LibreOffice, the question looms how they should be reflected in Start Center for the individual icon themes. Colibre has a good chance to become default on macOS and it currently is default on windows. See screenshot for current colibre start center icons. They clearly resemble the legacy LO icons which, after getting used to the new icons, already feels a bit stale. Also not a fan of the faint color choice of the current application icons in colibre. The easiest solution would be to just adopt the new application icons 1:1. That would make for a consistent experience and also be the most user friendly solution since color and shape of application icon would easily be recognizable. Steps to Reproduce: Look at start center with Colibre icon theme active. Actual Results: Application icons resembling legacy icons. Expected Results: Use new application icons. Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: No Additional Info: Version: 7.6.0.0.alpha0+ (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community Build ID: e272fd31b115e6ea128b593087aeaf4f55119a36 CPU threads: 8; OS: Mac OS X 13.1; UI render: Skia/Raster; VCL: osx Locale: de-DE (en_DE.UTF-8); UI: en-US Calc: threaded

It was decided in bug 126074 to not have a unique branding but theme-able icons. It has been like this before the latest icon update for bug 132398 if you switch from Colibre to any other icon theme. Now the main icon does not follow Colibre anymore on Windows and you see the difference. => NAB
Re: the previous comment: they don’t have to match exactly, icons will still be themable and should (and must) deviate a bit from the base branding, since we encourage third parties to theme us (the antithesis of the ridiculous “Please don’t theme my app” initiative). All this bug report is asking is for the Colibre icons to not resemble the pre-7.5 brand.
+1 and well stated Adolfo. Not sure I get why icon themes app icons in start center "should (and must) deviate a bit from the base branding". But if that is the case, as stated correctly by Adolfo, at least they should resemble the new icon set and not the old one.
Note to self: Rizal pointed out that the icons should represent documents instead of apps in https://t.me/LibreOfficeDesign/68354

Rizal has now introduced agnostic filetype icons, different from app icons, in places this distinction was needed since the introduction of the 2010 initial LO brand, which wrongly conflated app- and file icons. Thanks Rizal!
