This shows the improper rendering of the formula with vectors

When a formula has a vector near other math symbols such as * or another variable, the vector arrows do not render fully - the vector arrows are cropped.  The following jpegs illustrate the problem:

please include the Starmath formula you are using. The nodes may simply require bracketing to apply full witdht of the vector to the expression(s).

Also, looks like you've used 'widevec' rather than 'vec' on the single character expressions.

Try the formula as "widevec ds  = dx * vec i + dy * vec j"

rather than "widevec ds  = dx * widevec i + dy * widevec j"

IIRC the widvec responds to node width, while simple vec is fixed to font size.
