It is not obvious how to do that, so I guess it would help to extend the description of the formula form field ( https://help.libreoffice.org/latest/en-US/text/swriter/01/04090005.html?&DbPAR=WRITER&System=UNIX ) to mention that the formula can contain the functions and variables as defined in the help for formulas in writer, notably the statistic fields.
