Description Ruslan 2022-12-29 12:49:35 UTC
Description:
If you have rows merged into one cell and they are numbered, then if you apply auto-numbering (pull down the selected cells with content 1,2, ...) - the union breaks on one of the cells and the numbering starts to fall out of these cells.

Steps to Reproduce:
GIF: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1_PkByVgrGtxXi6RRfWrokml7dsv2coAv/view?usp=sharing

Actual Results:
Cells with numbering have shifted and the merging of cells next to each other has broken

Expected Results:
All cells remain in their places, only their contents change.

Reproducible: Always

Hello Ruslan.

Thank you for reporting the bug.

I'd like to ask if you can kindly provide the written instructions for steps you are taking to merge the cells as it is not entirely apparent from the video. The rest of the process is understood.

I'll set the bug's status to 'NEEDINFO'. Please can you change it back to 'UNCONFIRMED' once the steps are provided.

Many thanks!

Hello. Sorry for the long answer!

Please try to reproduce the steps below.

Case 1:
1.1) Fill in cells A1:A6 and B1:B6 with values from 1 to 6
1.2) Merge in each column cells 2 and 3 with "Keep contents of hidden cells" option
1.3) Merge cells 4 and 5 similarly to paragraph 1.2
1.4) Select cells A1 and A2
1.5) Pull down to A8
1.6) We observe how cell A4 is equal to half of the cell with the value 4 of column B.

Case 2:
2.1) Undo action 1.5
2.2) Select cells A1 and A2
2.3) Drag down to cell A4
2.4) We observe how the values of cell A5 overlap each other

This is not a completely correct display. In Excel, if this behavior is reproduced, an error occurs "To do this, all merged cells must have the same size"
