Description s.bulow 2022-12-29 23:49:33 UTC
Description:
I suggest that Marginalia (i.e. sidenotes) be added automatically (like as well as footnotes and endnotes), at the same height as the anchoring to the word / phrase to which it refers. This will allow you to index sidenotes, etc.
This feature is used by language publications.

The second proposal is that in the "comment" view it is possible to leave only the comment itself - without the author and the time of attaching the comment. I often publish documents in pdf form and it is very unprofessional if the comment window contains information about the author, time, etc. In some types of documents, nothing more than the view of the comment itself is recommended (so it would be very helpful for many user if they could manually disable the visibility of unnecessary information in the comment window)

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Marginalia - no simple tool to insert them
2. Comments - it is not possible to enable the view of the comment itself (without the view of the author, time of adding the comment, etc.)

Actual Results:
Marginalia (sidenotes) - currently you can manually add a text field, but you have to edit it every time, it is not always possible to arrange everything vertically (with 200-300 sidenotes it is a big problem).
This can be solved by adding comments (however, the visibility of information about the author of the comment, about the time it was turned on, makes such a publication/digital document look very unprofessional)

Expected Results:
1.For Marginalia (sidenotes) - so that they can be turned on and handled like e.i. footnotes. Possibly without numbering.
In the event that marginalia will occur, you can include a vertical line (black or colored) separating the main document from the sidenotes. Alternatively, over time, an option to include color in the margins where there are sidenotes can be included.
2.In the case of "comments" - to add an option in the comments options - turn off the view of the author, - turn off the view of the comment's adding time, - turn on the view of the comment content only)

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
The case applies to all LibreOffice releases.
