Description steam2 2023-01-08 14:13:16 UTC
Description:
I am trying to design signs in irregular size. Therefore, I changed the size of the format to 42cm x 12cm, landscape format.

In the beginning, everythin went well. Even though, not all the fonts were displayed correctly - mainly completely consisting of wrong characters.

E.g.: I want to use font "Verdana". It did not work well - the character spacing was completely uneven. Therefore, I just changed the font to "Arial Black" and it looked pretty well. I then saved the .odt-file, as well as an exported .pdf. Luckily!

Then the programm seems to get trouble with my conditions.

I re-opened the .odt-file one day later to produce another document. But: All of a sudden even with "Arial Black" the character spacing was conpletely uneven and it
looked non-usable.

I was scared, because I have to work on this programm to designing these documents!

However, I again tried different fonts. But now, it started to get even worse. I didn't find any font which looked normal in the character spacing.

I tried a different way:

I opened a new and blank file "normal DIN-A4 size in white", and tried "Calibri".
This again looked good! In size 12, and I changed it to the size I would use in my designs. And it worked. Then I changed the file to the format I would use for my designs. I then wanted to change the font size again - and boom! It was completely destroyed.
For example: I wrote "Kleine Villa" in Calibri. I then changed the font size from 12pt. to 120pt. And there is no "Kleine Villa" anymore. Now there is: "Kleine Villa" - but not visible. It is exchanged with signs like "H~~ÒÒ~N IJÒ~O~OM" and it looks completely crazy.

Also, it does not relate to the settings of the formatted paragraph.

I tried to produce a .pdf-file from this "text" - and I could read "Kleine Villa" again in the .pdf-file. But this time with uneven character spacing!

I then detected, that any change in font size bigger or smaller, in any document format (A4 or custom), using any font (Arial Black or Calibri, or Liberation Sans, etc.), produces weird charakters and non-usable words.

Therefore, please, again, help me!

So, I can not work with it anymore. Please, please, please, help me!

Important Note: It must be a DISPLAY ERROR. When I copied the exchanged letters/characters to this text here, It perfectly wrote the right text.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Write in any font, e.g. Calibri in regular document's font size
2. Change the font size, e.g. to 180pt. or to 220pt.
3. optional: Change the font size again, e.g. to 20pt.
4. latest at this point you can see the totally wrong letters/characters

optional:
4. create a .pdf-file from that view
5. view the .pdf-file and see the odd / uneven character spacing

Actual Results:
After I changed the font size (as described above) there is: "Kleine Villa" - but not visible. It is exchanged with signs like "H~~ÒÒ~N IJÒ~O~OM" and it looks completely crazy.

Expected Results:
It is obvious: Not change the font, not change the character spacing! It should remain regular - also in the display!

Reproducible: Always
