Description Jan Vlug 2023-01-29 08:39:46 UTC
On Fedora 37 in the dark theme, the find next and find previous buttons are nearly invisible when a text is entered in the Find box. When there is no text entered in the Find box, the icons are visible.
I will attach screenshots.

Have you set up?
- Menu/Tools/Options/LibreOffice/Advanced/Enable experimental features
and then
- Menu/Tools/Options/LibreOffice/Application colors - Color Scheme - LibreOffice Dark.

I did not have this on (actually, I do not know any more how I enabled the dark theme).
But now I have it on, the behavior is the same (i.e. no visible Find next and Find previous icons when text is entered in the Find text box).

Can not reproduce on Windows builds with os/DE "Dark" color theme enabled, icons for the "Find Previous" and "Find Next" (as well as the "Previous Element" and "Next Element" when enabled) button actions are visible and well formed.

On Ubuntu 20.04 with GNOME 3.36.8 in dark mode, I can see your problem if you use the Breeze icon theme. However, this theme is not suitable for dark mode, and it has a "dark" variant.

Can you please confirm which icon theme you are using in Tools > Options > LibreOffice > View? And if there is a "dark" variant, please use that.

I was using Icon Theme: Colibre
I switched to: Breeze (SVG + dark).
I see the Find next and Find previous icons now all the time.

Sorry for the false report. Thanks for the hint.

Feel free to close this bug report (unless you want to leave it open because it would be more intuitive when the Icon Theme and the Color Scheme are somehow connected when they are dark or light)

Thank you, Jan!
Colibre also has a dark variant, if you prefer that icon theme, and the arrows will display properly with that one.

Marking as "Not a bug" as the chosen icon theme was not suitable for dark mode.

Actually, I'll mark this as a duplicate of bug 127138, as the icon theme switch still needs some fixing for GNOME and KDE.
