Description lexi_q 2023-02-02 18:03:06 UTC
Description:
I tried to work with my database files today, and any time I enter information into a form and try to move to the next one or to close or save it, I get this error:
Attempt to insert null into a non-nullable column: column: ID table: Inventory Table in statement [INSERT INTO "Inventory Table" ( "Base Cost","Brand","Description","List Price","MSRP","Quantity","SOLD","Scent/Color","Sold for?") VALUES ( ?,?,?,?,?,?,?,?,?)]

and I get this when I click on "More": SQL Status: 23000
Error code: -10

Attempt to insert null into a non-nullable column: column: ID table: Inventory Table in statement [INSERT INTO "Inventory Table" ( "Base Cost","Brand","Description","List Price","MSRP","Quantity","SOLD","Scent/Color","Sold for?") VALUES ( ?,?,?,?,?,?,?,?,?)]

Can you tell me why it's suddenly doing this? I have several different copies of this file on several different computers and every file is doing this. Restarting in safe mode does not solve the problem

Steps to Reproduce:
1.enter information into form
2.try to exit or save entry
3.

Actual Results:
I received the above error message and the information is not being saved at all.

Expected Results:
the information should be saved and I move on to the next entry form

Reproducible: Always

The file that is not working properly

The issue is with the Inventory Form. Once you enter a value and try to move on to the next record or close the form and save, it gives the error message and will not save.

In table "Inventory Sheet", "ID" field has "AutoValue" property to "No" instead of "Yes".
If you put it at "Yes" and save the odb, it should be ok.

Of course, do a backup of your file before changing this property, just in case.
