Created attachment 185095 [details] Various text showing the bug Hi, since the integration of LT in LO there is new bug which makes the use of LT in LO very difficult. When I am using strings of text in Latin, French, Italian and German within a paragraph in Spanish for ex. LT struggles to proof the text and sometimes does not specify what mistake it is underlining, sometimes it suggests corrections in Spanish. Sometimes if the text in the Foreign language starts in a new paragraph the bug is gone, others it persists (such as in the case of Latin tex). It works for me, except for a few single words, like 'lkjafljks'. Hi @m.a.riosv, thank you! I was happy to read that LT installation with the new procedure (https://languagetool.org/insights/post/product-libreoffice/#how-to-enable-languagetool-on-libreoffice) is working correctly in your setup. I opened the settings and do not see anything different from the instructions above, so am attaching a screenshot of both what I see in the text and my current setup. Maybe you or someone can spot what is wrong.
Reproducible. Version: 7.5.0.3 (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community Build ID: c21113d003cd3efa8c53188764377a8272d9d6de CPU threads: 4; OS: Windows 10.0 Build 19045; UI render: Skia/Raster; VCL: win Locale: es-ES (es_ES); UI: en-US Calc: CL threaded
Language module "LanguageTool Remote Grammar Checker" does not appear (See attachment). Problem persists.
Try the latest version of Libreoffice. With version 7.5.3 everything is fine.
Thanks @José Luís Andrade, I just installed LO 7.5.3 and the words in the submitted text odt are still underlined and the suggestions are not proposed for the language in case. See screenshot. Any ideas why?
Created attachment 187324 [details] Screenshot of file named Language test Languagetool.odt already submitted This is just an example. a. The whole paragraph is codified in Spanish (Spain). b. Some sentences within have been codified in Italian, others in French or German, or Latin. c. All these sentences in FR, ES, IT, have mistakes within them. d. Except for Latin, unsupported from LT, in all other cases LT should: 1. detect that they are not in ES and it fails to do so. 2. underline mistakes only, and it fails too, since it considers them to be Spanish (point 1.) 3. suggest corrections, and it fails on this too because of point 1.
You can try reset LibreOffice to Factory Settings. https://www.trishtech.com/2020/08/how-to-reset-libreoffice-to-factory-settings/ Caution: It will delete any corrupted files but will also delete all custom preferences.
You are right. The bug persists. I can reproduce...

Hi @José Luís Andrade, I confirm that, after resetting LibreOffice to Factory Settings, the bug persists. See screenshot.
This is a major issue. LO built LT is not usable in mixed language paragraphs. OK with LT extension.
Dear Daniele, To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today, LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed bugs which have not been touched for over a year. There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in getting confirmation that the bug is still present. If you have time, please do the following: Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/ If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice. If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice. Please DO NOT Update the version field Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker) Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular meaning that is not appropriate in this case) If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a REGRESSION. To do so: 1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/ 2. Test your bug 3. Leave a comment with your results. 4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo'; 4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat: https://web.libera.chat/?settings=#libreoffice-qa Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone!
