Description: Running on laptop: HP Envy x360 running Windows10 (x64 bit) On a previous version of LO (7.3), I suddenly started encountering the issue where, when trying to open existing Calc files on my laptop, LO would immediately freeze. It would hang in limbo until I attempted to exit the program, upon which all it would tell me is that the program isn't responding and asked if I want to wait for it to respond or to just close it. Once closed, it would initiate a crash report to Windows. I noticed after this repeatedly happening that there was a new version of LO available, so I uninstalled the whole thing and just had a fresh install of 7.5 version. The problem is persisting, although slightly different. Before the version change, I couldn't open Calc at all, but now with 7.5, I can open a fresh file of Calc and even edit and save, but if I have to close to program and come back to an already existing file, I get the same crashing. I've been scouring bug forums and help posts. I still cannot open existing Calc documents without the aforementioned issue. - The same thing happens with Presentation and Draw. I can open a fresh file in them, but saving a file and then going to re-open it causes a freeze and crash. - Trying to open Math just causes a crash, I can't even ask it to open a new file like Calc, Presentation, and Draw. This is what I was experiencing before installing the newest version of LO. - I did not test it with Database - already having 3/4 of the rest of LO's capabilities crippled was enough for me to get fed up with this. - Running LO in safe mode does not fix the problem - I will still crash trying to open existing files for the affected parts of LO. - Deleting and creating a new user profile did not work - Going into the options and turning off hardware acceleration did not work (also saw some folk claim disabling Skia helped their similar issues, so I did that, too.) - In Safe Mode, I did what someone called the 'nuclear option' and asked it to revert to factory settings, thus attempting to ensure my user profile data was reset and corruption of the profile was not the issue. This did not change any of the issues I am experiencing. - Again, Writer works just fine. I can open existing Writer doc files, make news, etc. Acts fully functional and seems to be the only part of LO that will work like it should. Based of lack of any other information that I can find, I'm inclined to think this is specifically a LO issue. I've run anti-virus scans and the like, just on the off-change I did get infected with something, but those have all come up clean. (I didn't expect this to be the problem, honestly, it is JUST LibreOffice that is acting weird; the rest of my laptop's environment is still pretty pristine.) I keep track of my multiple dozens of houseplants in Calc :( Writer and Calc are my most-used parts of LO and the issue popped up so suddenly, without any accompanying weirdness or errors. Any help, any input at all would be appreciated. If there is no other advice beyond what I've tried, what's the best older version of LO I can revert to as a last-ditch attempt before I have to give up? I've used LO for years and I really don't want to switch to anything else. Steps to Reproduce: 1.Open LibreOffice splash screen 2.Open file > selecting a Calc, Presentation, or Draw file 3.Experience the Frustration as program freezes and crashes OR Click open the existing file from its location on the computer (I've tried desktop, Documents library, folders, etc.) Experience the Frustration as the program freezes and crashes. Actual Results: LibreOffice freezes and crashes. Expected Results: My file to open Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: Yes Additional Info: n/a
I don't experience this kind of issues. Please paste here the information in Menu/Help/About LibreOffice (there is a button to copy it) You can try going through 'Applications and characteristic' on Windows configuration, and modify LibreOffice installation, using 'Repair' option, or uninstall and install again, maybe something of the installation is broken,
