Description Frank Jäger 2023-02-27 08:06:22 UTC
Description:
To check whether Bug 151731 is resolved in Libre Office, I installed version 7.5.
I found another bug: Icons in Libre Office are nearly invisible in version 7.5. So I had to fall back on version 7.4.5.1.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Start Libre Office version 7.5 on macOS 13.2.1
2.Look to the icons and check their visibility
3.

Actual Results:
Icons in Libre Office are nearly invisible in Libre Office 7.5

Expected Results:
Icons in Libre Office shall be visible

Reproducible: Always

I guess you're not using a dark icon theme.

Please, check in Tools - Options - View and under "Icon Theme" select a dark icon theme.

Does this fix your issue?

Thanks for the hint regarding the dark theme. Well, I choose automatic mode in the macOS appearance preferences plus the option via Tinker Tool to limit dark mode to menu and dock only. So during the evening I still have white window background, but dark menus and dock.
For now I reverted this this option via Tinker Tool and chose light mode in the macOS appearance preferences. With these settings the issue is gone and I can work with version 7.5 of Libre Office.
This issue still exist, when setting macOS appearance preference back to dark mode (or automatic during the evening) and the option in Tinker Tool to limit dark mode to menu and dock.
With the previous versions of Libre Office this was never an issue.

I changed the icon appearance to "Sukapura" without automatic. This is fine even with my settings automatic mode in the macOS appearance preferences plus the option via Tinker Tool to limit dark mode to menu and dock only. So the automatic theme selection in combination my my special setting causes this issue.

Frank, in version 7.5.1.2, you will see in "Tools > Options > LibreOffice > View" the option to set the view mode to whichever you see fit.
This should allow you to keep your Tinker Tools customisation and have LibreOffice ignore whatever macOS theme is being used.

Does that work for you?

Frank
Would be better if you attach some screenshots
