On pc Debian x86-64 with master sources updated today, no problem to include the file from https://file-examples.com/storage/feadec8f346400f84963e24/2017/04/file_example_MP4_480_1_5MG.mp4

Now I suppose it depends on the codecs used in the mp4 file.
Would it be possible you attach the file or provide an url to download it?

Thank you for your feedback.
On pc Debian x86-64 with master sources updated today, I don't reproduce this. Idem with LO Debian package 7.4.5.
Perhaps Windows only bug.

No repro either with

Version: 7.4.5.1 / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: 9c0871452b3918c1019dde9bfac75448afc4b57f
CPU threads: 8; OS: Mac OS X 13.0.1; UI render: Skia/Raster; VCL: osx
Locale: fr-FR (fr_FR.UTF-8); UI: fr-FR
Calc: threaded

I can insert the file into an Impress slide, then activate the slideshow (Shift F5), and the music will play.

I can play the file separately in VLC as well, for what it is worth.

As far as I can tell, the MP4 file in question uses the AAC (advanced audio coding) codec.

In order to be able to playback the audio, your operating system needs to support that codec with a corresponding shared dynamic library, and LibreOffice needs to be able to access that shared library in order to be able to decode, and play, the audio.

According to this page:
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/file-types-supported-by-windows-media-player-32d9998e-dc8f-af54-7ba1-e996f74375d9

If you have Windows media player, then that MP4 container with AAC audio should be readable by your system, in which case, it should also be readable by LibreOffice. If it isn't, and someone else with a Windows OS can confirm that, then this would probably be a bug in the LibreOffice build for Windows.

On Windows 10 with master sources updated some days ago, I could reproduce this.

The weird thing is I can open the file with Windows media player, it's just some audio with flute, so it means I got the aac codec installed.

Remark: I haven't specific logs on console.
