If I have a document with a bunch of objects and a bunch of styles (not that styles amount to much in Impress/Draw, see bug 152652) in a bunch of slides, it's not easy - if at all possible - to change the the language of all of these for one of the language groups. I encountered this when using the LibOCon 2022 Milan slide template, and failing to get rid of the damn Italian no matter how hard I tried...
As you know, please attach a sample document and detail what you have tried.

Created attachment 190058 [details] Presentation with two slides and DFed objects (In reply to m.a.riosv from comment #1) > As you know, please attach a sample document and detail what you have tried. So, here's a sample. But it's not about the sample, it's about the principle. In Writer, one can "Select All" and clear DF or set new DF. In Impress, if we select multiple slides: * We can't clear DF * Even if we could, it wouldn't help if the objects had different styles * We can't set a DF direction for everything. Specifically, we can supposedly use Format > Paragraph > Direction, but that doesn't override DF, and in fact I'm not entirely sure what it does (maybe changes the page/slide directions? But then - is it right for to appear under Format > Paragraph?)
Can we make this a duplicate of another ticket? For example Bug 34141 - Functionality request: Impress language identification similar to Writer's status bar Bug 127897 - Missing "Language->For Selection/Paragraph" under Tools Bug 123244 - Switched language in presentation not effective in newly added slides (my take #34141) Since Impress/Draw is slide/page focused the idea of "all" sounds wrong to me. The scope "current slide/page" makes sense. But it actually changing the language via status bar or main menu affects all text boxes on all slides (testing with 7.6 using English and German text- switching underlines either one or the other). Works also with the test document. Adding clear direct formatting (or all formatting resp. reset to default) makes sense but would be a different topic. How to proceed here?
(In reply to Heiko Tietze from comment #5) Actually, when I change the language of the default drawing style, using the sidebar for example, it seems to affect everything regardless of any supposed DF by selecting characters. This is weird. It's as though it's actually difficult to change the language of _one thing_ within the document.
Even changing the language on the Default Drawing Style works for me (underlining of English due from spellcheck).
Ping Eyal, please check again.
Well, there's Tools > Language > For all Text. I'm closing this for now.
