Description:
I formatted all the cells in the column as a MM/DD/YY date, the tried to use the Ctrl-" copy cell above. About half the time (10 tries) I get the numeric date number and half the time I get the actual date. Repeated the date formatting and copy cell attempt several times. Unpredictable results.

Actual Results:
Format a cell range as Date in MM/DD/YY style. Put a date in a formatted cell, click on the cell below and use Ctrl-". It worked about 5 times out of 10 for me.

Expected Results:
The active cell would display the integer representing the date, with no date formatting, 5 times out of 10.

Reproducible: Sometimes

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
The date formatting and date from the cell above should have appeared in the active cell.

The default keyboard combination that I have for "copy cell above" (or "Fill single edit") is [CTRL]+[']; the last one being the single apostrophe.

Is this Ctrl-" some customized keyboard shortcut? Am I reading it wrong? Could you please describe in full words which precise keyboard combination are you using?

You are correct. My keyboard has them reversed. Ctrl-' is what I actually use. But with LO, it is inconsistent with copying the cell format.

Worked consistently here with dozens of tries. Maybe an example file would be good to be sure.

I believe the LO method is Ctrl-D, and now that I've learned this, I prefer it. I believe LO is doing many things better that Excel, and I appreciate this.

I like the Ctrl-D method and think it would be a waste of time to duplicate the Excel method. LO likely needs to be different, and it's great. Please don't put any more time into this "bug."
