Description freeware 2023-03-14 18:08:45 UTC
Description:
Hi.

Just a minor thing, but so annoying if you love macros.

Currently "Edit macro" command ALWAYS opens [My dialog windows and macros].Standard" and if you want to edit YOUR macro you have to select the module from the list every single time.

Please consider change it so "Edit macro" command would open the library/module that was selected/opened previously and make LO remember that somewhere (just like it rememberes recently opened documents).

Or at least make it so "Edit macros" opens the module that is embedded (if present) in the file, instead of showing a blank window every single time and forcing me to search the module _every_single_time_.

Thank you.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Tools -> Macro -> Edit macros

Actual Results:
Opens [My dialog windows and macros].Standard and does NOT remember the previously opened library/module.

Expected Results:
Open previously opened/edited basic module.

Reproducible: Always

Seems an interesting idea. I'm not sure if this might annoy some users who are used to this behavior, so let's hear from the UX team.

FTR you can achieve a result similar to what you want via: Tools - Macros - Organize Macros - Basic, then select the macro and press "Edit". This dialog will remembered the last chosen macro.

If you're using the tabbed UI, simply choose the Tools tab and click "Basic" in the left.

Indeed, it might be annoying; and is not how other modules work (Writer does not start with the last opened text document, for example).

An alternative could be to fill the recent documents with the edited macros not documents in case of Basic. What do you think, Samuel?

Reasonable request, removing UX.

Hi. I've just noticed another minor UX annoyance in the macro editor.
Please, look at the attached image.
The tree listing inside "Object Catalog" sidebar page is INVERTED compared to the listing in the "Basic Macro Organizer", where the items are sorted alphabetically.

Both lists seems to show same items, and I'd expect them to be sorted the same.
