Description: The euro symbol is not printed with the font "Universe". When the document is opened with Ms Word 2021 (Ms Office Pro Plus 2021) the euro symbol is printed correctly. When the font of the euro symbol is changed to Arial it is printed correctly in both Word and Writer. Note that the character is not omitted, just not printed, the space is occupied (just white). Steps to Reproduce: 1. Type euro symbol (€) 2. Set font to Universe 3. Print document Actual Results: Euro symbol (€) was not printed but white-space instead. Expected Results: Euro symbol (€) printed with other text. Laurens, could you please retest with LO 7.5.2? Is the bug still present there? => NEEDINFO
Tested this one with attached font. Could print it well with LO 7.3.6.2, also 7.5.2.2. Euro will always be printed under OpenSUSE 15.4 64bit rpm Linux. Version: 7.3.6.2 / LibreOffice Community Build ID: c28ca90fd6e1a19e189fc16c05f8f8924961e12e CPU threads: 6; OS: Linux 5.14; UI render: default; VCL: kf5 (cairo+xcb) Locale: de-DE (de_DE.UTF-8); UI: de-DE Calc: threaded Might be a special Windows bug.
@Dieter I tested 7.5.2.2 and the result is the same, no euro symbol printed. I had time to test some further and discovered that the bug can be narrowed down to FinePrint as the euro symbol did print OK on other printers I have installed. Overlooked this as the fact that the euro symbol was printed correctly from Ms Word 2021 to FinePrint put me on the wrong track. Tested with: From LO 7.5.2.2 to: FinePrint 6.11: Fail Brother DCP-L2550DN: OK Brother DCP-L2550DN BR-Script3: OK CutePDF Writer: OK PDF24: OK Microsoft Print to PDF: OK From Ms Word 2021 to: FinePrint 6.11: OK Brother DCP-L2550DN: OK Brother DCP-L2550DN BR-Script3: OK CutePDF Writer: OK PDF24: OK Microsoft Print to PDF: OK So it seems FinePrint is the only printer that does not print the euro symbol. However, I still wonder why it does print it when printed from Word.

(In reply to Laurens from comment #4) > From LO 7.5.2.2 to: > FinePrint 6.11: Fail As far as I can see (https://fineprint.com/), version 6.11 is not the actual version. Is it possible for you, to update FinePrint and retest? => NEEDINFO
My FinePrint (FP) license is only valid for v6.x, so it's not possible to upgrade unless I buy a new license. I did however test the newest available FP version 11.35 (trial version) in a VM with LO 7.5.2.2 and it worked, the euro symbol was printed correctly to FP. So it seems a bug with FinePrint v6 (and possibly other older versions) and LO 7.x, I can understand that no development resources will be spent on that. Still curious however as to why FP v6 does print the euro symbol when the same document is printed from Ms Word 2021.
(In reply to Laurens from comment #7) > I did however test the newest available FP version 11.35 (trial version) in > a VM with LO 7.5.2.2 and it worked, the euro symbol was printed correctly to > FP. So it looks to me like a bug in older version of FinePrint and not a bug in LO. So I close this bug. feel free to change it back to UNCONFIRMED with a short reasoning, if you disagree.
