Description jojobader 2023-03-31 10:26:07 UTC
Moving an element up/down in a list, makes the cursor jump to the heading above.

Whether the list is numberered or unnumberered doesn't matter. The bug only triggers if there is a heading in the document and it is above the list. If the heading is after the list, the bug doesn't occur, when moving items up/down that list.

Outline of a document that makes the bug obvious:
------------------------------

1. This is a list
2. At the beginning of the document
3. Moving these items up or down, works fine -> the cursor won't jump

HEADING 1 (Here is where the cursor will jump to)

1. In this next list
2. when moving items up/down
3. it will make the cursor jump to the HEADING above
4. which is very annoying :P
------------------------------

Here's the details of my version:

with HEADING, i meant that this line has the paragraph style 'heading 1' applied to it

I don't understand what you mean by moving them up/down. Please give exact steps.

Set to NEEDINFO.
Change back to UNCONFIRMED after you have provided the information.

There's several ways to move elements up/down in a list:
- Menu: Format -> Lists -> Move Elements up/down
- Buttons on bottom: while the cursor is in the list, there's button on the bottom that can move elements up/down

Let me know if that helped

I've tried this, and could not reproduce the bug. Perhaps there's something more specific about your document? Could you attach it?

Running in `--safe-mode`, the bug doesn't happen, which means that it's related to my config ...

It will be worksforme, if jojobader resets the user profile and the problem is no longer seen.

Jojobader, so please reset your user profile and give feedback, if the bug has gone away or is still present.

that's not correct ... If users were expected to use the standard profile and not deviate from that, you'd be right ... my config is pretty standard and the bug is happening, even if it's just me in this case.

Anyway, i'm fine with closing this, this is too much of a hassle ...

The point is that something might have become corrupted (for lack of a better expression) in your user profile. Resetting your profile might make the issue go away for good. https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile
