Description rik 2023-04-06 15:21:24 UTC
Description:
With the Track Changes toolbar, the "next" and "previous" buttons are handy for navigating track changes in big documents. However, currently, these buttons skip only to changed text and skips comments. This is not expected behaviour: MS Office does not do this and includes comments in the skips. It is also highly undesirable, as an author you need a view to skip 1-by-1 through all edits AND comments. I almost mist several comments today because of this omission.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.make several changes in a document while recording them with Track Changes
2.also make several comments
3.now press "next" and "previous" in the Track Changes toolbar to skip to next and previous changes

Actual Results:
skipping occurs but only to changed text, it excludes comments, which may be missed as a result

Expected Results:
skipping includes comments

Reproducible: Always

Works fine for me. It jumps to the indicated position of the comment.

Are you sure it works as you say it does? I have never known LibreOffice Writer to do anything else but skip only to tracked changes, not to comments
Comment 5 Buovjaga 2023-10-10 12:58:34 UTC
I think my mistake was that I added text, turned on tracked changes and only after that I added comments.

I can reproduce, if I turn on change recording, type text, add comment, type text, add comment... In this case the jumping with next and previous in the toolbar does not work.

Already seen in the oldest of Linux 5.2 bibisect repository. Track changes toolbar was added a bit before that period.
