Description: I try to put the chapter name into the header of a document. The doc tells me to insert a field of type chapter in the functions list (https://help.libreoffice.org/latest/fr/text/swriter/guide/header_with_chapter.html?DbPAR=WRITER). But the type Title nor Chapter appears into the liste. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Ctrl-F2 2. Select "Functions" 3. No chapter nor title type in the list of Types. Actual Results: I use the french version - i give an english equivalent in parentheses but I don't know if this is coherent with the actual english content) The list contains the following items: - Texte conditionnel (conditional text) - Liste de saisie (typing list) - Champ de saisie (typing field) - Exécuter la macro (execute macro) - Substituant (substitute) - Combiner les caractères (combine characters) - Texte masqué (hidden text) - Paragraphe masqué (hidden paragraph) Expected Results: Somewhere in the list, I should have the item "Chapitre" (Chapter Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: Yes Additional Info: The technique I try to apply is documented into the manual here: https://help.libreoffice.org/latest/fr/text/swriter/guide/header_with_chapter.html?DbPAR=WRITER Version: 7.5.1.2 (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community Build ID: fcbaee479e84c6cd81291587d2ee68cba099e129 CPU threads: 4; OS: Windows 10.0 Build 17763; UI render: Skia/Raster; VCL: win Locale: fr-FR (fr_FR); UI: fr-FR Calc: CL threaded
Barnard, you're in the wrong tab of Fields dialog. Please change from "Functions" tab to "Document" tab (as described in help). Here you'll find chapter as second entry. Does this solve your problem? => NEEDINFO Additional information: Please use ask.libreoffice.org for specific help. Bugzilla is only for collecting bugs. Thank you.

There is a translation problem. The English version https://help.libreoffice.org/7.5/en-US/text/swriter/guide/header_with_chapter.html?&DbPAR=SHARED&System refers properly to the "Document" tab, but the French version refers incorrectly to "Fonctions". Choisissez Insertion - Champ - Autres champs, puis cliquez sur l'onglet Fonctions. "Fonctions" should be "Document" @Julien -- maybe you can help make this correction in weblate?
On pc Debian x86-64 with master sources updated today + English-US UI, I got: - in document tab: Author Date File Name Heading Page number (unstyled) Paragraph signature Sender Statistics Template Time - in Functions tab: Conditional text Input list Input field Execute macro Placeholder Combine characters Hidden text Hidden paragraph So no "Chapter" in both tabs.
(In reply to Julien Nabet from comment #3) > On pc Debian x86-64 with master sources updated today + English-US UI, I got: All of this is correct. Because in 7.6 "Chapter" was changed to "Heading" (bug 153560), but none of this is relevant to Bernard's query, which will still be a problem in 7.6. The problem is the following: 1. Look at: https://help.libreoffice.org/latest/fr/text/swriter/guide/header_with_chapter.html?DbPAR=WRITER 2. In the section with the title: Pour insérer le nom et le numéro de chapitre dans un en-tête ou un pied de page notice point 4, where it says: Choisissez Insertion - Champ - Autres champs, puis cliquez sur l'onglet *Fonctions*. 3. The translation of the English "Document" (as found in 7.5 and will aos be found in 7.6) to *Fonctions* is incorrect. It should be *Document*. 4. It is true that point nr. 5 (about Chapitre) will have to be changed for 7.6, but it is not relevant for 7.5 I hope this clarifies the problem/issue and the need to change "Fonctions" in the French weblate for 7.5 (and now I realise that it should also be changed in master as well).
Ok done here: https://translations.documentfoundation.org/translate/libo_help-master/textswriterguide/fr/?checksum=1cc2dd877ea2cd00&q=note%3A8Zoja&sort_by=-priority%2Cposition and automatically reported in 7.5, see: https://translations.documentfoundation.org/translate/libo_help-7-5/textswriterguide/fr/?checksum=1cc2dd877ea2cd00&q=note%3A8Zoja&sort_by=-priority%2Cposition Now you must wait for the sync (I don't know at all how much time it requires). BTW, thank you for the ping sdc.blanco ! :-)
The same problem existed in the Asturian and Catalan translations. Maybe it was a defuzzing problem. (These strings are very old, so the problem has existed for a looooong time.) https://translations.documentfoundation.org/translate/libo_help-master/textswriterguide/ca/?checksum=1cc2dd877ea2cd00#history https://translations.documentfoundation.org/translate/libo_help-master/textswriterguide/ast/?checksum=1cc2dd877ea2cd00#history
(In reply to Adolfo Jayme Barrientos from comment #6) > The same problem existed in the Asturian and Catalan translations. Maybe it > was a defuzzing problem. (These strings are very old, so the problem has > existed for a looooong time.) ftr - the initial checkin of the en-US file (in 2004) used "Document". also in 2014, "Insert - Field - Other" was changed to "Insert - Field - More Fields". But Adolfo's report made me curious, so from looking a little at other translations, I can see the following mistakes in: English - South Africa: en-ZA "Other" -> "More fields" and "Functions" -> "Document" Estonian: et "Funktsioonid" -> ? Esperanto: eo "Funkcioj" -> ? Indonesian: "Fungsi" -> ? Norwegian (bokmål): nb "Funksjoner" -> (Dokument) ? Swedish: sv "Funktioner" -> (Dokument)? (also I think the "Andra" is wrong for the "More fields") I have not tried (and do not know how) to check all the other languages systematically, and have not tried to inform anyone else -- beyond this report here. I hope that Adolfo or Julien will know how to "flag" this problem to relevant persons -- or maybe ask Sophie to send a message to the translators list?
(In reply to sdc.blanco from comment #7) > ... > I have not tried (and do not know how) to check all the other languages > systematically, and have not tried to inform anyone else -- beyond this > report here. If you downloaded the translation repository with git, you can try: git grep -n -2 'Insert - Field - More Fields</item> and click the <item type=\\"menuitem\\">Document' You'll have the string in English with the localized string just below. IMHO we should try to fix both in the same time (Other->More Fields and Functions-> Document), I had just begun to do this but then thought perhaps we should do this in another way so I'll let Adolfo speak here.
Well, thanks to all. I feel a bit idiot because I already used this elsewhere, but the doc puzzled me apparently. Glad to have been able to enhance LO with your help.
