Description Szasz-Fabian Jozsef 2023-04-10 21:13:24 UTC
Description:
There is a very bad thing when selecting text. White space (spaces, tabs, newlines) are selected as well after double clicking or triple clicking text.
This utterly stupid behavior must be stopped. Its's just time wasting to delete unnecessary space after copying and pasting text.
Whitespace AFTER THE copied text is never needed.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Double click or triple click virtually any text.
2. Copy
3. See the text in the clipboard - it includes unnecessary white space at the end.

Actual Results:
Do not include whitespace. Ever. Countless nerves and hours wasted on deleting the unnecessary included whitespace.

Expected Results:
Select the word or the phrase, without white space. Never ever select anything more than it is needed.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: Yes

Additional Info:
It looks like a stupid, default windows behavior. White space inclusion always creates problems (eg. copying passwords), never has solved anything.

Not happening for me.
Double clicking selects a word without spaces.
Triple clicking selects a sentence including the period, without trailing nor leading spaces.
When copying then pasting the selection, the pasted text is exactly the text shown as selected.

Please post the Help -> About build details for your install.

Can not confirm on Windows builds. Double, triple or quad click for word, sentence and paragraph selection does not include the bracketing white space.
