Description: Setup (in case it matters): * German OS (Windows 8.1 Pro 64-Bit) * German keyboard (where "," and ";" share the same key) * LibreOffice language settings: - User interface = English (USA) - Locale setting = German (Germany) Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open Calc 2. Select a cell 3. Press "Ctrl + ;" (to insert the current date) or "Ctrl + Shift + ;" (to insert the current time) Actual Results: Nothing happens. Expected Results: The current date or time should be inserted into the selected cell. Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: Yes Additional Info: The corresponding menu entries "Insert\Date" and "Insert\Time" work as expected. Just the keyboard shortcuts don't.
Thank you, Lenge. The issue with the conflicting shortcuts is tracked in bug 82117 already, but I would expect "Ctrl + Shift + ;" to still insert the time. This one shortcut works for me in: Version: 7.5.3.1 (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community Build ID: d29ee673721b12c92b3de9b9663473211414f0db CPU threads: 8; OS: Linux 5.15; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3 Locale: en-AU (en_AU.UTF-8); UI: en-US Calc: threaded Can you please share the full info from Help > About LibreOffice ?
(I am using a German keyboard)
(In reply to Stéphane Guillou (stragu) from comment #1) (1.) Yes, sure. Here it is: Version: 7.5.2.2 (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community Build ID: 53bb9681a964705cf672590721dbc85eb4d0c3a2 CPU threads: 8; OS: Windows 6.3 Build 9600; UI render: Skia/Raster; VCL: win Locale: de-DE (de_DE); UI: en-US Calc: threaded (2.) I verified again: Both shortcuts don't work.
Try if Ctrl+. and Shift+Ctrl+. (Ctrl+:) wrk.
(In reply to Eike Rathke from comment #4) > Try if Ctrl+. and Shift+Ctrl+. (Ctrl+:) wrk. I think that is for LO 7.5.3.x (not released yet as final) as of bug 129547.
My environment sets : Locale: ja-JP (ja_JP.UTF-8); UI: ja-JP After update to libreoffice ver. 7. 5. 2. 2, the function to insert date using "Ctrl+;" works all the time. However, to insert time with "Ctrl+:" still does not work.
(1.) This is definitively not Linux only --> Removed (2.) "Ctrl + ." and "Ctrl + Shift + ." (like in Excel) do not work either.
I checked again with the latest 7.5.3 release: Version: 7.5.3.2 (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community Build ID: 9f56dff12ba03b9acd7730a5a481eea045e468f3 CPU threads: 8; OS: Windows 6.3 Build 9600; UI render: Skia/Raster; VCL: win Locale: de-DE (de_DE); UI: en-US Calc: threaded Result (same as before): (1.) "Ctrl + ," does not work (2.) "Ctrl + Shift + ," does not work (3.) "Ctrl + ." does not work (4.) "Ctrl + Shift + ." does not work Notes: (1.) "," and ";" share the same key (where ";" = "Shift + ,") (2.) "." and ":" share the same key (where ":" = "Shift + .")
For me (Mint 21 Ubuntu 22.04 with a UK keyboard), the Date shortcut "Ctrl+;" does work, but the Time shortcut "Ctrl+Shift+;" does not. In fact no user assignment for "Ctrl+Shift+;" works. This affects both Writer and Calc and I think the problem started with LO 7.5.2.2. I'm pretty sure 7.5.1.2 and previous versions were OK. My temporary workaround at present is to assign the Time field to "Ctrl+'".
> Can you please share the full info from Help > About LibreOffice ? Sure (sorry for my late reply though). I have checked again with the lastest release, same behavior: Version: 7.5.5.2 (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community Build ID: ca8fe7424262805f223b9a2334bc7181abbcbf5e CPU threads: 8; OS: Windows 6.3 Build 9600; UI render: Skia/Raster; VCL: win Locale: de-DE (de_DE); UI: en-US Calc: threaded
Given that Lenge uses a DE keyboard, let's mark this as a duplicate of bug 82117. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 82117 ***
