Using the in built Check for Updates resulted in the ERROR.
Several times.

"Checking for an update failed. Error reading data from the Internet. Server error message: ."

 NO ERROR MESSAGE

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Check for Updates
2.Wait for a response
3."Error reading data from the Internet. Server error message: ."

Actual Results:
3."Error reading data from the Internet. Server error message: ."

Expected Results:
Update downloaded

We mainly have reports of the same issue on macOS in bug 153696, but keeping this separate for now.

Can you please test again, to see if the issue was related to a transient network problem?

confirmed, happened since the update of curl during the 7.5.0 period, and was fixed for 7.5.2.2 with another update to curl that fixed the problem/so is duplicate. affected version ranges (inclusive): 7.5.0.2 til 7.5.1.2
