Description swulf 2023-05-07 18:18:04 UTC
Description:
Opening a very large document in Writer, containing a lot of text and images, starts well and initially seems to render but Writer then hangs displaying a 'busy' icon instead of a cursor and the file cannot be edited or worked with at all. The only action possible is to abort the program through Windows, even after waiting many minutes.

I am now unable to edit this document in Writer at all.

Steps to Reproduce:
1) Attempt to open a very large Writer (.odt) file containing lots of text and images
2) Writer will open it and correctly display the visible content (i.e. first page)
3) Any attempt to edit, scroll or work with the document results in Writer hanging and becoming permanently unresponsive. Only way out is to abort Writer in Widnows.

Actual Results:
Writer becomes unresponsive and document cannot be edited or worked with.

Expected Results:
Writer would allow editing and normal use of the document.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
The .odt file is ~1.3 GB (1,402,548,224 bytes) in size according to Windows.
