Description BOB 2023-05-24 14:58:46 UTC
Dear,
While using your LibreOffice "calc" application, I opened one (or even several) files saved with the extension .xslx (Excel 2007-365 - xlsx workbook) as I usually did and horror, my (my ) file(s) were empty and no longer contained any data or records!! I thus lost several files (data over several years...). I still managed to open two of these files through MS.Excell in recovery mode and was able to save my data. I would like to know if this "bug" has already been reported to you!?! If so, has it been fixed? This annoys me a little because I have recommended (and installed) LibreOffice on several computers that I know and advertise your software which until now has given me great satisfaction. It would bother me to go back to Ooo...I can't remember the version of LibreOffice used during these "bugs", maybe 7.4.2 or even 7.2.3. Nota Bene: I cannot attach the incriminated files to you, I deleted them. Since these misadventures, I now save my files in XSL extension (MS.Excel 97-2003) because they serve me on several platforms (some of which do not have LibreOffice but only Ms.Office). If this were to happen again, I will keep the offending file and send it to you. Thank you for your help, Sincerely, BOB.

Where did you save the files?, in a USB pen?
Comment 2 BOB 2023-05-25 07:02:30 UTC
Hello, these files were on my hard disk and they each contained several sheets: about ten memory and each sheet contained only one page of simple calculations (sum, subtraction etc.). Thank you, Sincerely, BOB.

It looks like a typical issue when the USB, it's extracted before it is completely writer. Could you have suffered a crash or power loss?

Hello, no loss of computer power (fixed) and the files were still present on the hard drive. But, what is curious is that on this same computer, I managed to open one of these files via MS.Excel in recovery mode!?!), I could not try the other because I had deleted in the meantime. Thank you, best regards, BOB.

Sorry, but there is not enough information to do anything about this, so I will close.
