Description Truss 2023-06-10 22:59:50 UTC
Description:
When enabling Single Toolbar, the table toolbar does not automatically activate any more when interacting with tables. It works OK in LibreOffice 7.4, but not in LibreOffice 7.5.

Steps to Reproduce:

1) Open a new document in LibreOffice Writer.

2) Click the "Insert Table" icon in the top toolbar and insert a table.

3) The table toolbar should automatically open at the bottom (correct operation).

4) Go to [LibreOffice Writer > View > User Interface]. Select "Single Toolbar" and click the "Apply to All" button.

5) Click the "Insert Table" icon in the top toolbar and insert a table.

6) The table toolbar does not automatically open at the bottom anymore (incorrect operation).

7) Try to click the cursor inside and outside the table – and the table toolbar still does not automatically open when clicking inside the table.

Actual Results:
The table toolbar does not automatically open at the bottom anymore.

Expected Results:
The table toolbar should automatically open at the bottom.

Reproducible: Always

This is by design. The "Single Toolbar" mode was modified to work like the "Contextual Single" mode, with the intention to eventually replace it. In that mode, all the contextual commands (including table related ones) are shown in the single toolbar itself, and no other toolbars are ever showing automatically.

If you want to use the single toolbar but still have automatically showing toolbars, you can achieve this with the "Standard Toolbar" mode: Just go to View > Toolbars, uncheck the Standard and Formatting toolbars, and check the "Standard (Single Mode)" toolbar.
