I was not able to determine any individual trigger. It might work for 5 minutes, or just a minute or two. I would have to force stop the program and all new data would be lost. I'm not sure if it's our problem or not. Mike, any opinion here?
LibreOffice 7.4 does not use MSVC redist 2010 - it uses the redist for 2015/2017/2019/2021, which has a completely different set of libraries. KB2467173 was released in 2011. Overall, it definitely looks like a bug in MS libraries. It might still be interesting/useful to learn why does it hang, esp. given that uninstalling the package seems to resolve the issue. To do that, you might want to generate a minidump when the program hangs, using steps from [1]. If you decide to do so, please attach the generated dump here. Thanks! New updates to Windows seems to have fixed this problem. I can no longer replicate it.
