can there be a suggestion to allow searching for formatting marks (end of paragraph or line), tabs, etc? sometimes it is useful to be able to replace them and search for them, thank you.
(In reply to ksso from comment #2) > can there be a suggestion to allow searching for formatting marks (end of > paragraph or line), tabs, etc? > sometimes it is useful to be able to replace them and search for them, thank > you. https://help.libreoffice.org/latest/en-US/text/swriter/guide/search_regexp.html?DbPAR=WRITER#bm_id3150099 and there is a great extension, which has more capabilities than Search&Replace. https://extensions.libreoffice.org/en/extensions/show/alternative-dialog-find-replace-for-writer
yes, it works the instalation was loopy, request to restart and repeat install but if you press later, can be installed nice if extensions could hide thank you!
Created attachment 188326 [details] nice to be able to hide extension in the bar?
You can move the button and dock it, where you like. Please try to and report. https://help.libreoffice.org/latest/en-US/text/shared/guide/floating_toolbar.html?DbPAR=SHARED#bm_id3152801
The tabbed display or view doesn’t allow to grab and move the extension (there isn't a floating toolbar), nor to hide it

(In reply to ksso from comment #7) > The tabbed display or view doesn’t allow to grab and move the extension > (there isn't a floating toolbar), nor to hide it That's a new topic. Feel free to open a new report, if you like. We should Focus here on hidden formatting marks in tables.
Reproducible in: Version: 24.2.0.0.alpha0+ (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community Build ID: 77fca616e0bd79e0b405fd0b3543cf8e94e15df3 CPU threads: 4; OS: Linux 5.15; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3 Locale: en-GB (en_GB.UTF-8); UI: en-US Calc: threaded
I was able to reproduce on 4.2.4.2 (but there may be earlier versions affected). In 4.2.4.2, if the user aligns right in a cell without typing any text into the table, no formatting mark appears. However, the formatting marks partially appear if you type additional text into the tables and press Enter. In 3.3, it is a little finicky. The majority of the time, the formatting marks appear fully, but there have been times that I saw them only partially appear. I can't reproduce it at the moment. Version: 4.2.4.2 Build ID: 63150712c6d317d27ce2db16eb94c2f3d7b699f8 Version: 24.2.0.0.alpha0+ (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community Build ID: 486ae5db6987411d5e394de94b2b077099d03856 CPU threads: 6; OS: Windows 10.0 Build 22621; UI render: Skia/Raster; VCL: win Locale: en-US (en_US); UI: en-US Calc: CL threaded
As an additional comment to Comment 11, in the current master build, if you follow OP's steps, then type additional text into the tables and press Enter, no formatting mark appears. So it's even more broken now than back in 4.2.4.2. Version: 24.2.0.0.alpha0+ (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community Build ID: 486ae5db6987411d5e394de94b2b077099d03856 CPU threads: 6; OS: Windows 10.0 Build 22621; UI render: Skia/Raster; VCL: win Locale: en-US (en_US); UI: en-US Calc: CL threaded
Dear ksso, To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today, LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed bugs which have not been touched for over a year. There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in getting confirmation that the bug is still present. If you have time, please do the following: Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/ If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice. If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice. Please DO NOT Update the version field Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker) Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular meaning that is not appropriate in this case) If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a REGRESSION. To do so: 1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/ 2. Test your bug 3. Leave a comment with your results. 4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo'; 4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat: https://web.libera.chat/?settings=#libreoffice-qa Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone!
