Hello, thanks for reporting the bug. I can't reproduce the bug because LibreOffice won't let me select multiple tables. What are the steps you are using to select multiple tables at once? I've attatched the a file with a simple test case that I used. Can you also include the version information of LO that you are using by going to Help -> About LibreOffice and then copy and paste the information to your response. Setting status to NEEDINFO
What are the steps you are using to select multiple tables at once? I've attatched the a file with a simple test case that I used. Ctrl + A (several times A, in order to select all text) or click and drag the pointer in order to select the tables, if the tables are bigger than workspace it will jump Can you also include the version information of LO that you are using by going to Help -> About LibreOffice and then copy and paste the information to your response Version: 7.5.5.2 (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community Build ID: 50(Build:2) CPU threads: 12; OS: Linux 6.2; UI render: default; VCL: kf5 (cairo+xcb) Locale: es-CO (es_CO.UTF-8); UI: es-ES Ubuntu package version: 4:7.5.5~rc2-0ubuntu0.23.04.1~lo1 Calc: threaded
Reproduced the behavior on Version: 5.3.0.0.alpha1+ Build ID: 4136757b4e51c4e6f7cb4132c95538a7f831ef2c CPU Threads: 1; OS Version: Linux 6.3; UI Render: default; VCL: gtk3; Layout Engine: new; Locale: en-US (en_US.UTF-8); Calc: group Changed earliest affected to version listed above as that's the earliest version I have available at the moment. It seems that none of the table attributes can be changed on multiple tables at a time. i.e. you can't change the border of multiple selected tables. You can change the text in each cell, when multiple tables are selected. This may have to do with how/what is actually selected, is it the table that's selected or is it the text inside the table? Updated steps to reproduce: 1. open attached simple table background 2. select all text by using Ctrl A(press multiple times as needed) 3. right click selection, go to table properties, select background, select color, select table, then change the color of the background The background of the multiple tables stays the same. Setting to NEW, may need to be considered as a UX improvement.
however, sometimes LO does not allow me to select some tables, somehow it is blocked, but I don't know how to reproduce it
Dear ksso, To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today, LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed bugs which have not been touched for over a year. There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in getting confirmation that the bug is still present. If you have time, please do the following: Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/ If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice. If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice. Please DO NOT Update the version field Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker) Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular meaning that is not appropriate in this case) If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a REGRESSION. To do so: 1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/ 2. Test your bug 3. Leave a comment with your results. 4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo'; 4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat: https://web.libera.chat/?settings=#libreoffice-qa Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone!
