Where do I change this unwanted behaviour of Writer?
A new line should be normal, not italics.

You will need to provide us with more information, including steps to follow to reproduce your issue, and version information copied from Help > About LibreOffice.

Please also update to the latest version available (currently 7.5.4).

you are right: after updating this unwanted behaviour of Writer is gone. now every new line keeps the standard, and is not changing any more to italics.

Thanks for updating and reporting back.
Changing the resolution to "works for me" then, as no fixing commit was identified.
