Description Henry 2023-07-15 05:36:22 UTC
I have a basic model which I use to write in Spanish. It corrects the Spanish vocabulary and the Spanish grammar 100% perfectly.

But, sometimes, I have words that are not recognised). Mainly proper nouns which are thus underlined in red.

I therefore try to use the option "Add to dictionary" if I use them often.

When I click on the option "Add to dictionary", I am given two options:

- add to standard.dic
- add to -LT-es-ES/internal.dic

Ìt does not matter WHICH option I chose (I've tried both), the new words are NOT kept/recognised for future reference. They are still underlined in red, not only in the current document, but also in any future documents whenever I type these words.

Hi Henry,

I am marking needinfo for a few reasons, specifically:

1) If you see my attachment - I used lowriter and added a nonsense word (though I think a cool one) 'Terifonics'.

Then I followed the path described further in the Help here Tools > Options > Language Settings > Writing Aids
https://help.libreoffice.org/latest/en-US/text/shared/optionen/01010400.html?DbPAR=SHARED#bm_id7986388

My word is there and it seems to be functioning properly. One small side point in case it fixes the problem - it seems to only match the word if the capital letters are matched.

2) It's not clear when you say you have a 'model' which libreoffice program you are using.
I'm assuming you mean Writer - but I cannot tell - so was hoping you might clarify?

3) Just maybe could you drop in a screenshot or something to show examples of what's happening?
I'm pretty new to Qa generally and from what I see the add to dictionary tool is functioning so I'm hoping for a little more clarity.

Thank you!
