I do not know what exactly, but updating has damaged my good working LO. In fact, I can't see a way how to reproduce it with the provided steps. Does it also happen in safe mode with LO 7.6. Steps to reset your user profile are described here: https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile
reply to Dieter - comment2: I suggest I wait for a stable release of LO 6.0. Then I upgrade again and see whats happens. Since years I have upgated/graded L.Office and never occurred a damaged user profile causing documents only slowly loading.
Without an example document, it will be very difficult for us to test. From your description and comments, it's unclear if it's 7.5.4 or 7.5.5 that works for you currently. Please let us know how you go with a fresh profile and an update to 7.6 when the final version is released later this month. For now, let's mark as "need info". Thank you!
Dear team, my previous ok version was 7.5.4.2. Fron that, I updated to 7.6.0.1 and encountered the problem with extreme long loading times. I reset the profile, as described above and the problems were gone. Nevertheless I decided to fall back to 7.5.4.2. I needed to uninstall 7.6.0.1 and then installed 7.4.5.2. Loading of documents were with "normal" time. Meanwhile I have updated to ver 7.5.5.2 and all is fine. Question is, wheather updating to 7.6.0.x will reproduce the error, since I had reset my profil. All my recent 20 updates or more from 5.x.x.x over 6.x.x.x to 7.x.x.x always were done just by installing the new version. I never occured a problem. I propose I update now to the new version 7.6.0.2 and see, what is happening. My document loading about 3 minutes was an writer doc with about 530 kb. A calc doc of about 195 kb needed about 30 secs loading time. Seems the bad loading time was progressive with the document size. So any big document should do for testing. When I update now to 7.6.0.2 without recurring problems, I guess that the issue was a previously damaged profile and we can not replay. In case the problen reoccurs, then I try to save my profile for further testing. Pls let me know, how to do the save.
I have updated now to 7.6.0.2. Everything seems to work as normal, no problems. I do not know, how to reproduce the bug. Think, we should close the issue.
Thank you for retesting and detailing the process, klausg, much appreciated! If needed in the future, some guidance about user profile is here: https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile For now, let's close as "works for me", but please feel free to set back to "unconfirmed" if the issue pops up again.
