Created attachment 188410 [details] Sample DOCX file with a comment marked as "resolved" When DOCX files with resolved comments are opened, such comments should not be visible by default, since in MS Word they're hidden from the user. So when a MS Word user sends a document with resolved comments to someone else, they'll expect these comments to not be shown by default. This is a relevant feature for those working collaboratively in the same document file. The problem I'm having is this: 1) A student creates a DOCX files (using MS Word) with their essay/paper and send this file to me. 2) I add a lot of comments to the text (using LO Writer) and send the document back to the student. 3) The student makes changes to the document (using MS Word) and marks the comments as resolved. The comments are no longer shown in MS Word, but they still exist in the document. Then the student sends the corrected file to me. 4) When I open the file in LO writer, all comments are visible to me, even though they are resolved. IMO this is an inconsistency, since the end result should be the same in both applications: resolved comments shouldn't be visible by default. I attached a sample file created in MS Word. It has 3 comments and the second comment is marked as resolved. If you open this file in MS Word, the second comment won't be visible, whereas in Writer all three comments will be visible. The expected behavior would be to have the second comment hidden in LO Writer as in MS Word.
Can we treat it as a duplicate of bug 147235? Problem ist as described there in comment 6: "The behaviour now is that upon save & reload, the checkbox ["view/resolved comments" in the menu bar] remains unchecked, but the comment becomes visible."
