Description Jurjen Heeck 2023-07-20 06:47:40 UTC
Description:
If I copy the value from the cell above by using the keyboard shortcut CTRL-' (single quote), which for example contains 82,3, I get 82.3. My locale setting is Dutch, with comma as the decimal separator.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Set locale in Options - Language settings - Languages to Dutch
2.Enter 82,3 in cell A1
3.Select cell A2
4.Use CTRL-' to copy the contents of A1 to A2

Actual Results:
82.3

Expected Results:
82,3

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
[Information automatically included from LibreOffice]
Locale: en-US
Module: SpreadsheetDocument
[Information guessed from browser]
OS: Linux (All)
OS is 64bit: yes

Strange how the locale in above information does not reflect my setting.

I see that shortcut, but I can't find any reference explaining what it does (Fill single edit), seems it copies the above cell like if it was in edit mode, and pastes without finish with an introduced.

It does bad when there is only a number in the cell, if it is a formula or several numbers the result looks fine.

Maybe [Ctrl+D] serves for you.

I probably used [CTRL-'] out of habit from working with MsExcel, [CTRL-D] works fine, thank you.
Comment 6 m_a_riosv 2023-07-20 21:12:58 UTC
Not resolved because [CTRL-'] doesn't work fine in when using with only a decimal number in the above cell.

Reproducible with:

Version: 6.4.7.2 (x86)
Build ID: 639b8ac485750d5696d7590a72ef1b496725cfb5
CPU threads: 4; OS: Windows 6.1 Service Pack 1 Build 7601; UI render: default; VCL: win;
Locale: es-AR (es_MX); UI-Language: en-US
Calc: threaded

Version: 7.6.0.1 (x86) / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: 776eaf34564cbf3f034a0ba1fd1d5c32ff9ccf1c
CPU threads: 4; OS: Windows 6.1 Service Pack 1 Build 7601; UI render: Skia/Raster; VCL: win
Locale: es-AR (es_MX); UI: es-ES
Calc: threaded

es-AR uses comma as decimal separator.
