Description Mikko Rantalainen 2023-08-29 16:36:22 UTC
I'm using LibreOffice with an user account that has selected GTK theme "Materia-compact" on Ubuntu 22.04 LTS ("jammy"). This results in (among other things) the formula entry are in the toolbar getting rendered black-on-black which obviously makes it completely unusable.

Here are the exact versions I have:

$ apt policy libreoffice-calc
libreoffice-calc:
  Installed: 1:7.3.7-0ubuntu0.22.04.3
  Candidate: 1:7.3.7-0ubuntu0.22.04.3

$ apt policy materia-gtk-theme
materia-gtk-theme:
  Installed: 20210322-1
  Candidate: 20210322-1

I've reproduced the issue on multiple computers running Ubuntu 22.04 with multiple desktop environments and the LibreOffice suite is the only software that has problems with Materia-compact theme.

Note that Tools – Options ... – LibreOffice – Application Colors view is also completely unusable with most of the view rendered black-on-black, too.

Here's a screenshot of the issue. The black areas are not censored content but the actual UI as rendered with Materia-compact theme on Ubuntu 22.04 LTS.

Please can you paste the information in Menu/Help/About LibreOffice, there is an icon to copy.

And test the options in Menu/Tools/Options/Application colors, at the top to selection about dark mode.
