Description: Hello, I have installed the German (de) offline help for LibreOffice v7.6.0 and whatever I try, I just get the overview/home page of the offline help to open. It's impossible for me to open the help page of the specific function I want to find out more about. As a workaround, I have to type the function name myself into the offline help search and open the proper link/page on my own. I'm not sure if this is a bug or bad usabibility. LibreOffice forum was no help (https://ask.libreoffice.org/t/offline-help-cant-be-opened-although-its-installed-versions-fit/94578/2). This makes using LibreOffice way more annoying compared to other commercial products. Best Regards, Steps to Reproduce: 1. Create a new Calc document 2. add a =SUMME() function to an empty cell 3. select the =SUMME() function in the cell 4. press F1 to call the offline help 5. a browser tab opens with the wrong URL Actual Results: Overview/home page file:///[...]/help/de/text/scalc/main0000.html?System=WIN&DbPAR=CALC&HID=SC_HID_SC_WIN_GRIDWIN#bm_id3155335 opens Expected Results: Help page of the specific function opens, e. g. file:///[...]/help/de/text/scalc/01/func_sum.html?DbPAR=CALC#id431636401649762 for function =SUMME() (sum function in German) Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: No Additional Info: Version: 7.6.0.3 (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community Build ID: 69edd8b8ebc41d00b4de3915dc82f8f0fc3b6265 CPU threads: 12; OS: Windows 10.0 Build 22621; UI render: Skia/Vulkan; VCL: win Locale: de-DE (de_DE); UI: de-DE Calc: CL threaded
This is an interesting use of F1, and i agree it should work as you expect. - If the cursor is in the function name SUM in the cell, I get HID=SC_HID_SC_WIN_GRIDWIN#bm_id3155335 - If the cursor is in the function name SUM in the input line (aka formula bar), I get a 404 with HID=modules/scalc/ui/inputbar/sc_input_window Version: 24.2.0.0.alpha0+ (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community Build ID: e472b5b557d2b43b41e488c83db2b188de499610 CPU threads: 8; OS: Linux 5.15; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3 Locale: en-AU (en_AU.UTF-8); UI: en-US Calc: threaded The behaviour in cell is inherited, but at least OOo 3.3 would lead to the Input Line help page if F1 was pressed in the input line. Olivier, what do you think?
Sorry for asking but do we have an update on this? This is a bigger usability issue in my point of view as it's expected behavior for Microsoft Office users (thus a reason not to switch to LibreOffice) and makes the access to the relevant help pages time-consuming.
