Description malt25 2023-09-02 13:38:02 UTC
Description:
After starting the PC with Windows OS, the first LibreOffice window is positioned too high, the symbol to change it's size can not be reached and the window can not be moved down. The LibreOffice window was maximized when used last time. I need to reduce the monitor resolution in Windows to move and change the size of the LibreOffice window.

In Firebird Base when opening forms, the form is in a too large window. The form window is positioned too high, so the symbol to change it's size can not be reached and it can not be moved down. I must right click the window, then choose maximize, then I can move and resize it.
This does not happen with tables and queries.

I use Version: 7.6.0.3 (X86_64). It was the same with LibreOfficeDev_7.6.2.0.0_Win_x86-64.
I installed the previous version 7.5.5. The problem remains, although this version worked in the past.

Did Microsoft change something in a Windows update lately or did a Windows update not function correctly on my PC?
Another program recently updated had a monitor problem too. With this one using a previous version worked.
My other programs work all without problems, even the ones updated around the same time as LibreOffice.

The problem does not occur in Writer or Calc.

Version: 7.6.0.3 (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: 69edd8b8ebc41d00b4de3915dc82f8f0fc3b6265
CPU threads: 6; OS: Windows 10.0 Build 22621; UI render: Skia/Raster; VCL: win
Locale: de-DE (de_DE); UI: de-DE
Calc: CL threaded

Steps to Reproduce:
1. opening forms in base
2.
3.

Actual Results:
the form is in a too large window. The form window is positioned too high, so the symbol to change it's size can not be reached and it can not be moved down. I must right click the window, then choose maximize, then I can move and resize it.
This does not happen with tables and queries.

Expected Results:
the form should open with the size as closed last time.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: Yes

Additional Info:
The problem does not occur in Writer or Calc.

Thanks for the report.
Are you using several monitors?

In any case, window position and size can be saved in the user profile, so please update to the latest 7.6.2 version and test again with a new profile (you can do that with Help > Restart in safe mode, and tick the two options in "Reset to factory settings", then "Apply changes and restart").

Thank your for all the valuable information.

Yes, I use two screens. The second one I only turn on, when I need it. In the OS it is always on; I do not know how to turn it off there, would only make sense, if it could be done easily, as I use the second screen occasionally several times during one session.

At the moment I use LO
Version: 7.6.1.2 (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: f5defcebd022c5bc36bbb79be232cb6926d8f674
OS: Windows 10.0 Build 22621

LibreOffice_7.6.1_Win_x86-64.msi named on the LO download site "7.6.2"

In this version, after starting the PC in Windows OS, the first LibreOffice window is in the size it had when last closed. So resizing it once solves the problem in a stable way.

The size of the forms in LO Base stays stable when resized.
If I use maximum window size in a form and close LO, next time the form opens in a too large size and must be resized again. I encounter this problem often, as I must use some of my forms in the maximum size and forget to change the form size back before closing.

This happens only with Base forms and not with queries or tables or with calc or writer.

Thanks again for your help and all the information.

Not reproduced on Windows with 7.6 or 24.2, but I don't have multiple monitors.

Reports are also affected. Forms and Reports (in Design View) always open centered and unmaximized (oversized if saved as maximized).

LO 7.6.4 x64
Windows 10 22H2 x64
Single monitor

Ah, we actually already track that in bug 117792.
Thank you all!
