Please see attached screenshot. The problem is worse on high-res displays. The attached screenshot was taken on a 4K monitor (3840x2160). Steps to Reproduce: 1. On a 4K display, open a Writer document 2. Click the "clone formatting" paintbrush icon Actual Results: Cursor changes to a gigantic fuzzy bucket image Expected Results: Something clean, and possible to select small-font text with (e.g. to apply the cloned character formatting to certain characters) Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: No Additional Info: Please see attached screenshot

FWIW, I'm using 'cinnamon' window environment on xorg. Ubuntu 23.04. The big arrows shown when hovering the mouse near Writer tables or table rows has the same "big and fuzzy" appearance. Something in common here?
I can't reproduce, maybe a file where you see the issue easily could help to reproduce it.
I'm getting similar behavior both with clone formatting in calc & positioning just to left of a table in writer with fresh installation of Mint 21.2 Cinnamon with 1366 x 768 display, but my cursor turns to what looks like a tiny spec of dust (i.e. a fuzzy looking full stop 1 or 2 pixels wide). I've noticed other people saying on Reddit it disappears completely, but I suspect they just don't notice it's still there, just very small.
The specific Reddit thread I was referring to is here: https://www.reddit.com/r/libreoffice/comments/13f6ld7/mouse_disappears_when_drawing_in_draw/ I'm not sure if they're all talking about the same fault, but there are some that look the same.
Jim, is the issue reproducible in earlier versions, like 7.5 and 7.6? (In reply to scrowesdw from comment #6) > I'm getting similar behavior both with clone formatting in calc & > positioning just to left of a table in writer with fresh installation of > Mint 21.2 Cinnamon with 1366 x 768 display, but my cursor turns to what > looks like a tiny spec of dust (i.e. a fuzzy looking full stop 1 or 2 pixels > wide). (I can reproduce this in 7.3 and 7.4 but not since 7.5, so please update and confirm that it is gone as in bug 154558.)
> Jim, is the issue reproducible in earlier versions, like 7.5 and 7.6? The truly ridiculously-huge bucket cursors have gone away; I suspect an Ubuntu update installed a more recent version of LibreOffice (not sure). Anyway, I just tested 7.3.7.2 and today's master builds at 200% monitor magnification and normal (100%). The result are different (see screenshots): In both versions, the bucket cursor is scaled incorrectly, i.e. the proportionate size relative to the line height doesn't stay the same. 7.3.7.2 @100% screen scale: Bucket is about the same size as the line height. @200% screen scale: Bucket is about 1.5x the line height (which itself is 2x bigger because of the scaling, as expected). master @100% scale: Bucket is about 90% of line height master @200% scale: Bucket is tiny, about 40% of line height (is this what makes some people see "no cursor"?) I'll attach the screenshots.

Stephane/Jim, Thanks, I see you're on the case. I'm convinced the 'invisible cursor' comments are just that it's too small to notice. I also wonder whether/how the physical screen size plays a factor. My 1366 x 768 screen is 11", and as I said the cursor is on the limits of being too small to be visible.
