Description: As in telegram documentation channel noted: Dennis R., [11.09.23 01:32] <Guest95> Hello, I just wanted to inform the documentation team of a passage in the "Getting Started Guide" for version 7.5 Dennis R., [11.09.23 01:32] <Guest95> Specifically the passage is in the Preface. Pg 14 on the PDF. It seems to be the same passage in the web browser documentation as well. Dennis R., [11.09.23 01:32] <Guest95> It's my concern, that this passage might have been true in previous versions of LibreOffice, but not in 7.5, specifically for MacOS Dennis R., [11.09.23 01:32] <Guest95> If one is not connected to the internet, and is attempting to access offline help, although the offline help is included in a MacOS install, it is not opened (attempts with keyboard shortcut and menubar result the same). Dennis R., [11.09.23 01:32] <Guest95> The application will still attempt to open a browser window to the internet NOT the local file system. Offline help remains inaccessible through this method and there is no mention of an alternative method in the documentation. (I managed to locate some files through a hunt for the word "help" in my file explorer (Finder), but I am lacking Dennis R., [11.09.23 01:32] <Guest95> confidence in this being user friendly method for most of LibreOffice users.) Dennis R., [11.09.23 01:32] <Guest95> The passage: Dennis R., [11.09.23 01:32] <Guest95> Where to get more help Dennis R., [11.09.23 01:32] <Guest95> This user guide, the LibreOffice module user guides, Help system, and user support systems assume that users are familiar with computers and basic functions such as starting a program, opening and saving files. Dennis R., [11.09.23 01:32] <Guest95> Help system Dennis R., [11.09.23 01:32] <Guest95> LibreOffice comes with an extensive Help system and this can be used as the first line of support. Windows and Linux users can choose to download and install the offline Help for use when not connected to the Internet. Offline Help is installed with the MacOS version of LibreOffice. Dennis R., [11.09.23 01:32] <Guest95> To display the LibreOffice Help, press F1 or go to Help > LibreOffice Help on the Menu bar. If the offline help is not installed on a computer, but connected to the Internet, a dialog opens giving the option to Read Help Online. Select this option and the default web browser opens at the LibreOffice online help pages in the LibreOffice website. Dennis R., [11.09.23 01:32] <Guest95> The Help menu also includes links to other LibreOffice information and support resources. The options marked by a ‡ sign in the list below are only accessible if the computer is connected to the Internet. Dennis R., [11.09.23 01:32] @ohallot this is from the qa irc/telegram-bridged channel. User unkown. Might what to check sn correct if necessary?
