Description hojp 2023-09-19 15:37:01 UTC
Description:
We are using Base forms with text fields for showing and editing mariadb tables. With the switch to newer LO versions (currently 7.5.6-1 as well as 7.6.1-1; the error occurred with some versions before though too) and on plasma desktop (currently 5.27.8-1) these text fields are not cleared when changing a data record but are shown overwritten with content and become unreadable (as presented not in terms of what is written back to the database). This was not a problem with the same forms an older LO/Plasma versions.
This only happens in the combination with plasma (X11 and Wayland). Switching to XFCE, Cinnamon or Gnome solves the problem.

Actual Results:
Text fields are shown overwritten when changing data sets.

Expected Results:
Text field should be cleared and only new data shown, when changing data sets.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: Yes

Additional Info:
Text field should be cleared and only new data shown, when changing data sets.

Isn't this the same bug as described in
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=155637 ?

Bug appears only for fields with multi line text, right?
Comment 2 hojp 2023-09-20 10:59:31 UTC
Yes this is true. Probably is the same bug.
