Description ubbishray 2023-09-19 19:07:45 UTC
Description:
I live in Brandon, Manitoba, Canada. Residents of my city are called Brandonites. Everytime I type that word in a document it autocorrects to brandishes. I've added Brandonite to the dictionary a hundred times to no avail.

Not really a big deal, I think it's kind of funny.

Actual Results:
Type the word "Brandonite" or "Brandonites"
Press spacebar

Expected Results:
Brandonite was auto corrected to Brandishes

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
Left it at Brandonite

I added Brandonites and Brandonite to the dictionary and the spell checker is fine with them. With AutoCorrect while typing active, it doesn't correct them.

@ubbishray@gmail.com, maybe you accidentally added those words to be autocorrected to "Brandishes". To check:

1. Go to Tools > Autocorrect > Autocorrect Options.
2. Under Replace tab, search for "Brandonite" and "Brandonites" in the "Replace" text box
3. If those entries exist, delete them, then click OK.

ubbishray, please check that you don't have an autocorrect rule set up, as Kira asked, and please test if the issue persists in safe mode.

Also, please update to a recent release (if 7.3.5 is actually the version you use).

Thank you!
