Created attachment 189745 [details] screen copy In version 7.4.7 finally brought the option back "Tools/Options.../LibreOffice Calc/General/Use printer metrics for text formatting". In version 7.5 and 7.6 this option disappeared again, causing cells to overflow with texts.
obsolete and removed intentionally for bug 131136 with additional clean up as for bug 153671 If your calc sheet cells are being misformatted because of a default os/DE printer assignment present on your system, we would need additional details (example test docs and screen clips) explaining the use case and how cell spacing and wrap your sheets are being affected.

The option "Tools/Options.../LibreOffice Calc/General/Use printer metrics for text formatting" was in versions up to 7.3.7, then disappeared, appeared again in version 7.4.7, and disappeared again in versions 7.5 and newer.
I started using LO a week ago and I've found an unexpected zoom behaviour where the cells and the text aren't zooming at the same pace. Sometimes the text fits in the cell, and sometimes don't. It's an already known bug (bug 108638). After a bit of research for a workaround, I found somewhere that enabling the metric printer option solves the problem, which now I discover that is removed for some unknown reason. I've installed OO4 in my computer and saw that OO has the same zoom bug, but the metric printer option solved the issue. So, please, restore the function again asap!
Yurij: can you attach an example spreadsheet that reliably shows the problem? That said, if the root issue is bug 108638, it should be the focus here. Set to NEEDINFO. Change back to UNCONFIRMED after you have provided the document.
This is an issue for me. The tables in LibreOffice calc do not match with the print output (PDF). The 'Use printer metrics for document formatting' option used to fix this, but it's not present is v.7.6.5.2 (as far as I can tell). I have not found any other way to fix this issue. Without a fix, we end up with empty lines on the print copy, or incomplete lines.
UPDATE: we had to roll back to version 7.4.7.2 to get back the "Use printer metrics for text formatting" option. Without this fix, the on-screen text shown on screen by LibreOffice Calc does not match with the printout (real or PFD), and it's even visible in the print preview. This causes LibreOffice to add extra lines where none are needed and messes up the presentation of the document. We have not found a better fix and every search online just point to "Use printer metrics for text formatting" as the defacto solution. Please bring back this option. For now, I will recomment that the company stay on v7.4.7.2
