Description: Writer crashes and freezes when scrolling through a document. Seems mainly to occur when scrolling quickly. Has to be restarted using Task Manager and when viewed in Task manager LibreOffice is using a massive 7gb of memory [normally 1gb max] with total memory of 16gb on machine. Doesn't seem to matter which document is in use [they are all .odt's] and so far all have been 'recovered' after LibreOffice process has been terminated. Latest version of 7.5.6.2 being used but it did it in older version. Steps to Reproduce: 1.Open a Writer document 2.Use scroll wheel to scroll up or down from where ever you are in document 3.That's it. Actual Results: Document Freezes Libre Office process terminated by task manager Expected Results: Attempting to open original document brings up the 'Recovery' panel. Reproducible: Sometimes User Profile Reset: Yes Additional Info: Laptop is virtually new with a clean install of LibreOffice on it.

(In reply to m.a.riosv from comment #1) > Looks like a duplicate of tdf#156179 yes, and likely bug 149527 in my opinion. Thanks for the report, old69. Can you please: - paste here the full version info copied from Help > About LibreOffice - if you have "Skia/Vulkan" in there, please also share the Skia log which should be in your user profile directory, at /cache/skia.log - then test if using Skia/Raster instead solves the issue, by ticking: Tools ▸ Options ▸ LibreOffice ▸ View ▸ Force Skia software rendering Thank you!
Created attachment 189852 [details] Screenshot of About page Please find enclosed screenshot of the About screen. I cannot find a skia.log anywhere but I do use a program to clean up log [and other files]. All I have is 'skia_denylist_vulkan.xml' . The only cache folder I can find is C:\Program Files\LibreOffice\share\uno_packages\cache and that is empty. I will try changing the setting as you suggest and will come back to you when I have given it a go.

(In reply to old69 from comment #3) For the skia log Menu Tools -> Options -> Libreoffice (category) -> View. There is a button, Copy Skia Log (to clipboard).
(In reply to old69 from comment #3) > Created attachment 189852 [details] > Screenshot of About page And please paste here the version info (there's a button to copy it) instead of using a screenshot, it makes it easier to search, use links and accessible to screen readers. Much appreciated!
Created attachment 189884 [details] Screenshot of Options page I have looked at Menu Tools -> Options -> Libreoffice (category) -> View and can find no button for copying skia.log. Had to attach a screenshot for this one.

Had to attach a screenshot for this > one. My bad, I didn't realize that the button got introduced in LibreOffice 7.6. Note: You could try 7.6. to see if the issue persists.
