Description kashukurwela 2023-09-25 11:41:36 UTC
Description:
The presenter console in LibreOffice Impress is completely unsuitable for me. I teach online and need presenter view when I share screen so my student sees the slide and I see the slide, the notes, and the next slide. I also tried connecting to a portable projector with an HDMI cable, but LibreOffice did not recognise this as a 2nd monitor either. In PowerPoint I can switch to presenter view in any and every scenario, even if I'm not connected to anything and want to practice transitions and timings in a presentation. Unfortunately, this has forced me to return to using PowerPoint.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Open Impress presentation
2.Try to use presenter console without a 2nd monitor

Actual Results:
Nothing happens, presenter console is not available without a 2nd monitor connected

Expected Results:
It does what it says on the tin - doesn't work without a 2nd monitor connected. https://help.libreoffice.org/6.2/en-US/text/simpress/guide/presenter_console.html
This is an enhancement request, not a bug report. However, I would expect LibreOffice Impress to be more compatible with common presentation scenarios like over Zoom.

Reproducible: Always

Which version of LibreOffice are you using?
Please test version 7.5, which gained the ability to use the presenter screen on a single monitor. See bug 92717.

Thank you!
