Description: When trying to save a document from Draw or Writer (even a new, almost void document), the program becomes unresponsive (spinning wheel) for 1-2 min. Already opening the saving dialog without entering something is (sometimes) doing this. After this time, the document is saved and it looks normal. The bug was not happening when starting in safe mode; however, resetting the user profile to factory setting or unchecking hardware acceleration (if that applies for Mac?) did not repair the bug. Neither did re-installion of the newest version of LibreOffice. Steps to Reproduce: 1.Start LibreOffice, new document in Draw or Writer 2. enter something or not 3. start saving Actual Results: The spinning wheel appears and the app is unresponsive for 1-2 min Expected Results: respond to entries in document name, our place for saving Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: Yes Additional Info: Hardware: Mac M1; OS 13.5.2 (and earlier).
Thank you for the report. I think this is bug 152571. (See bug 152571 comment 6.) Can you please share your full version info copied from LibreOffice > About? You can use the button in the dialog to copy everything. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 152571 ***
Indeed, the previously reported bug 152571 sounds similar. Here is the LO version data: Version: 7.6.2.1 (AARCH64) / LibreOffice Community Build ID: 56f7684011345957bbf33a7ee678afaf4d2ba333 CPU threads: 8; OS: Mac OS X 13.5.2; UI render: Skia/Raster; VCL: osx Locale: de-DE (de_DE.UTF-8); UI: de-DE Calc: threaded
After updating the Mac OSX to Sonoma, 14.1.1, the bug seems to be gone. The version of libre office is still the same (as "normal" user, I was not able to understand how to use the patch /the updated daily builds, sorry). Version: 7.6.2.1 (AARCH64) / LibreOffice Community Build ID: 56f7684011345957bbf33a7ee678afaf4d2ba333 CPU threads: 8; OS: Mac OS X 14.1.1; UI render: Skia/Raster; VCL: osx Locale: de-DE (de_DE.UTF-8); UI: de-DE Calc: thread
Interesting. Let's de-duplicate and mark as "works for me" then, and keep bug 152571 in "see also". Thanks for reporting back!
Unfortunately, bug reappeared. See also bug 152571 https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=152571 *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 152571 ***
Alf, if the bug still occurs with the latest 24.2 update, feel free to reopen this bug report, rather than duplicating it to one that's set as FIXED (based on the bugdoc in that bug report).
The bug has resolved with version 7.6.4.1 in my hands (Mac OS 14.4.1)
