Description MaxLHy974413 2023-10-04 00:38:48 UTC
Description:
When opening some larger PDF files in LibreOffice, LibreOffice will first use a very high CPU and memory, then quickly reduce usage, and then crash.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Open a larger PDF file for LibreOffice (I opened a 3MB PDF file at that time).
2.Loading...

Actual Results:
LibreOffice suddenly occupies a large amount of CPU and memory resources, then suddenly reduces resource usage, and then crashes.

I was able to reproduce this bug using the attached file in version:

Version: 7.6.2.1 (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: 56f7684011345957bbf33a7ee678afaf4d2ba333
CPU threads: 8; OS: Windows 10.0 Build 19045; UI render: Skia/Vulkan; VCL: win
Locale: en-CA (en_CA); UI: en-US
Calc: CL threaded

Same here. The program occupies a lot of CPU memory while loading the file. (see attachment)

After loading is done, the program stalls and becomes unresponsive.

In development version:

Version: 24.2.0.0.alpha0+ (x86) / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: 2902ab24ecc5ffbf4907ea83b2028508b9de6364
CPU threads: 8; OS: Windows 10.0 Build 19045; UI render: Skia/Raster; VCL: win
Locale: en-CA (en_CA); UI: en-US
Calc: CL threaded

While opening the file, it doesn't occupy a lot of memory while loading, but the program crashes without stalling. After reloading the development version I'm getting a Send Crash report (see attachment)

LibreOffice seems to convert PDF files to odg format before opening them. Also, this seems to be related to the performance of my computer when using it.
