Description Andrew Lentvorski 2023-10-04 03:06:52 UTC
Description:
When I copy a selection from LibreOffice calc and paste it in Sylk format, formatting and formulas are thrown away.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create entries in a Calc spreadsheet with formulas and formatting
2. Select them and use Copy
3. wl-paste --type application/x-openoffice-sylk\;windows_formatname=\"Sylk\" >/tmp/log.txt

Note: that requires Wayland on Linux as well as wl-clipboard. Presumably, any Wayland paste mechnism would work the same, this just uses the command line
Note: pay attention to the backslashes to escape characters properly or you will get that the format is unsupported

4. Examine log.txt and see that formatting and formulas have not been pasted or transmitted

Actual Results:
Formatting and formulas do not paste

Expected Results:
Formatting and formulas should paste

Reproducible: Always

I'm going to close this as Sylk is so old and obsolete that it really isn't worth putting in effort to fix it.

The work would be better spent on a different solution to my problem.
