Could you give a try at https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/QA/FirstSteps ?

Remark: it may be something in your LO profile since safe mode works well.

What is the effect of Tools - Options - LibreOffice - View - Use Skia for all rendering?
Comment 3 alivedsn 2023-10-17 15:18:19 UTC
1) Note this is a completely fresh installation of Win7

2) Renammed the "4" folder (in user profile). Libre re-created it after the restart. No effect with this.

3) Found that "Skia" flag was ON by default. Added the "programmatic output for skia" (no effect). Removed "skia" flag (leaving the "hardware rendering") - with no effect

I'm using the default Russian GUI language. Unfortunately, can't switch to any other/English, as Libre crashes immediately I try to open the Language settings box. I guess, the same issue...

Please note that this is my second try to install Libre 7.xx at Windows 7/32 - first one was 2 months ago with the same result, at another (old and slow) laptop. Finally, I reverted it to Libre 6, with success.

Note that there are no problems under Win7/64, Win10, Win11.

Also, located the swriter.exe file in the Libre folders. Starting of this:
- first, splash screen is ok
- then, the frame of the main window is rendered (yet with empty contents)
- then, immediate crash follows
- then, the "Recover" dialogue pops.

Thanks friends for your attention. I know my hardware and OS are both outdated; anyway it should be fine to give some more life to this, using my beloven Libre.

Thank you for the feedback.

Did you try to update your graphic driver?
Do you have any specific fonts installed? If yes, could you disable them just for the test?

If you still reproduce the crash, it would be useful to have a backtrace (see https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/QA/BugReport/Debug_Information#Windows:_How_to_get_a_backtrace).
