Description Mike S 2023-11-09 16:21:31 UTC
Description:
MS-WORD Registers a custom URI scheme to allow WebDav without any additional plugins or third-party installed software. Libre Office should support the same ability as MS-Word provides ...to have the ability to edit documents remotely. This would involve registering a Libre-Office custom URL scheme when first installing the software or update.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Try and create a link to edit a document in chrome or safari
2. No custom url scheme exists to accomplish this like MS-Word provides

Actual Results:
No way to accomplish without third-party software.

Expected Results:
Document or Spreadsheet opens... can be edited and save to remote URL all from within Libre Office.

Reproducible: Always

LibreOffice offers since a decade ago webdav connection through "Open Remote" and "Save Remote", where you can insert the URI and credentials for your webdav server.

Set WFM, until the current webdav feature is not what you look for, but then please ellaborate.

What you describe requires copying and pasting a Url. I am describing clicking on a link and the writer opens the document. You can then make changes to the document save the changes and close the writer. MS-Word installs a custom url scheme to handle this. It saves around five clicks. If you have a document-intensive web app this is critical.
