Maybe you have modified your default template?

Please don't put as new your own report, someone else must do it after confirm.
Comment 3 Andras Horvath 2023-11-11 05:49:05 UTC
Hi, as I have said in the report, I had installed a new Ubuntu 20 operating system and then installed Writer from snap. So I had tested it on a clean and fresh install. So no, I hadn't changed any template or any other things. Just opened a new page and made the setting that is not remembered. Thx, Andras

Why has this been changed to unconfirmed? You can freely reproduce the bug on a new OS with a fresh snap install. Thx, Andras
Comment 6 m_a_riosv 2023-11-12 21:26:20 UTC
Because, some other person, not the reporter, must confirm it, that's all.

Hello Andras, thank you for your report. I can confirm it is reproducible even in Windows.

Languages do not save regardless of the selected language. It stays for the document it is changed on, but does not apply to new/old documents.

What language do you set up in?
Menu/Tools/Options/Language settings/Default languages for documents.

Using the provided steps from the report, it doesn't save. Changing the default languages using the steps you provided (comment 8) does persist however. Perhaps this is not a bug like I initially thought and could just be a misunderstanding as it isn't super clear it is only for that document. Hopefully Andras can confirm.
Comment 10 Buovjaga 2023-11-13 05:49:49 UTC
With the steps in the description, the default is "For the current document only". Andras: did you leave this option checked?
